Leading the Future of Neuroaffirming Behaviour Support

The future of behaviour support requires more than technical knowledge.

It requires leadership.

It requires practitioners capable of navigating complexity, influencing systems, mentoring others, and driving meaningful cultural change.

Level 2 has been designed for practitioners ready to step into that role.

Beyond Implementation

Level 1 helped you understand and apply the GROW™ Neuroaffirming Framework. Level 2 asks a larger question:

what changes when you are responsible not only for your own practice, but for helping teams and systems live these values too?

This advanced certification moves from comprehension to embodiment, from individual application to systems implementation, and from practitioner to reflective leader and supervisor.

It is designed for practitioners who are already using GROW™ and are ready to make their reasoning visible, work with greater complexity, receive feedback, revise their practice and lead proportionate change.

Advanced Practice Areas

Complex Needs Analysis

Move beyond describing behaviour and learn to formulate the full picture.

You will learn to:

  • Develop multi-layered GROW™ formulation trees

  • Identify identity threat versus behavioural escalation

  • Differentiate skill deficit, nervous system overload, burnout and environmental mismatch

  • Understand trauma overlays and intergenerational neurodivergence

  • Formulate complex PDA and demand avoidance presentations

  • Integrate nervous system mapping into recommendations

Identity and Wellbeing

One of the most powerful aspects of Level 2 is its focus on wellbeing.

Not only for the people you support.

But for yourself.

You will develop advanced understanding of:

  • Autistic burnout

  • Practitioner burnout

  • Identity erosion

  • Psychological safety

  • Recovery mapping

  • Sustainable leadership

Because sustainable practitioners create sustainable outcomes.

Systems Leadership

Level 2 develops the skills required to:

  • Supervise Level 1 practitioners

  • Facilitate reflective practice

  • Coach families and professionals

  • Present confidently at conferences and events

  • Lead organisational change

  • Build ethical neuroaffirming cultures

This is where you begin stepping into recognised leadership within the GROW™ community.

WHY LEVEL 2?

The Reality Is...

Individual therapeutic gains are fragile when the systems surrounding a person remain rigid, inaccessible or deficit-led.

A child may build communication and regulation in therapy, then return to a school that misreads sensory distress as defiance. A practitioner may write an identity-safe formulation, only to see recommendations translated back into compliance targets. A team may value neuroaffirming practice but lack the structures, language and supervision needed to make it visible every day.

Many professionals understand neuroaffirming practice.

Far fewer can confidently apply it when:

  • a child is experiencing autistic burnout

  • a family system is overwhelmed

  • schools are pushing compliance

  • behaviour support plans must satisfy NDIS requirements

  • teams disagree on intervention approaches

  • restrictive practices are embedded within service delivery

  • identity, trauma, communication, and sensory needs intersect

Level 2 equips practitioners to work in that gap: holding complexity, influencing systems and supporting others without abandoning identity, rights, evidence or professional scope.

.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Unlike many professional development programs, Level 2 is assessed.

This certification recognises demonstrated competence, not attendance.

Participants complete:

  • Advanced Case Study Submission

  • Live Formulation Workshops

  • Peer Supervision Circles

  • Reflective Practice Journal

  • Recorded Professional Presentation

  • Workplace Implementation Project

This ensures the credential carries genuine professional credibility.

Your evidence includes a Formulation Portfolio (30%), Workplace Implementation Project (25%), Supervision Demonstration (20%), Professional Presentation (15%) and Reflective Journal (10%).

Certification requires competence across every required capability. Strong evidence in one component does not cancel a material gap in another. Where evidence is bounded but incomplete, a focused revision may be offered within the published arrangements. More substantial gaps require a further supervised development pathway before certification.

CERTIFICATION OUTCOMES
Upon successful completion you will be recognised as a:

Access and Participation

Different communication, processing, sensory and participation needs are expected.

Where the competence being assessed can still be demonstrated, participants may use approved written, audio, visual, supported or alternative participation pathways. Camera use, verbal speed and polished presentation are not treated as proxies for competence.

If a barrier is emerging, contact support@growtherapyservices.com.au. You do not need to provide unnecessary diagnostic or medical detail to begin an access conversation.
