Who Level 1 is for
Level 1 is designed for allied health, behaviour support, disability, education and related professionals who are ready to apply all four GROW™ pillars in their work and participate in the approved implementation and assessment process.
The move from Foundations to Level 1
Foundations asks:
How does the GROW™ Framework change the way I understand behaviour?
Level 1 asks:
How do I apply the framework consistently, ethically and visibly in my professional practice?
The Four Pillars of GROW™

Neurodivergent individuals deserve environments where they feel:
-
safe,
-
respected,
-
valued,
-
and able to participate authentically.
This pillar recognises the importance of:
-
identity,
-
autonomy,
-
dignity,
-
strengths,
-
and belonging.
GROW™ encourages practitioners to move away from approaches that prioritise masking or “normalising” behaviour and instead support authentic participation and wellbeing.

Behaviour makes sense in context.
This pillar focuses on understanding behaviour through:
-
nervous systems,
-
regulation,
-
sensory experiences,
-
emotional safety,
-
unmet needs,
-
and environmental demands.
Rather than asking:
“How do we stop the behaviour?”
GROW™ reframes practice toward:
“What is this person experiencing, communicating, needing, or navigating?”

All behaviour communicates something.
This pillar supports practitioners to:
-
recognise diverse communication styles,
-
reduce assumptions,
-
strengthen accessibility,
-
and build collaborative communication environments.
GROW™ encourages curiosity, reflection, and understanding over judgement and interpretation based solely on external behaviour.

Behaviour does not occur in isolation.
This pillar recognises the impact of:
-
relationships,
-
environments,
-
expectations,
-
systems,
-
trauma,
-
participation barriers,
-
and social context.
Sustainable support requires more than changing the individual — it requires responsive environments and shared responsibility across the broader support system.
